Stop or Block Others Users Changing Windows Desktop Wallpaper

1. Click Start Menu or ORB and type gpedit.msc and then press Enter

2. Once the group policy opens up, go to the following path in the left pane User Configuration >> Administrative Templates and then select Desktop

3. Now double click the entry in the right pane which says – Desktop Wallpaper and then mark this settings as enabled and set path to the permanent wallpaper, orientation as shown in the snapshot below.

4.  Click ok after configuring all the settings.

For ALL Those Who Don’t Have Group Policy On Windows Versions Like XP Home, Vista Home and Home Premium can follow the step below

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called ‘NoActiveDesktopChanges’ set the value to equal ‘1’ to enable the restriction.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

Value Name: NoActiveDesktopChanges
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = disable restriction, 1 = enable restriction)
